Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect
Account information: name, email, organisation name, password (hashed), and multi-factor authentication settings if you enable them. Security information: when you sign in we record your IP address and basic device and browser details against that session, so you can review and revoke your own sessions. Content: 3D models, images, floorplans, logos and configuration data. Review content: comments, markup, approvals and voice notes left on a project, including by people you invite who do not hold an account (see section 9). Usage data: page views, feature usage, session duration. Analytics: anonymous visitor metrics on published pages.
2. How We Use Your Information
To provide and improve the Platform. To communicate about your account. To generate anonymised analytics. To ensure security, including detecting abuse and rate-limiting requests. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Data Storage & Security
Data is stored on Supabase infrastructure (AWS). Encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production data is restricted, and database access rules limit what each account can read. Industry-standard security practices applied.
4. Where Your Data Is Processed
Placewize is operated from Australia, but your data is not stored in Australia. Our database, authentication records and uploaded files are hosted on Supabase infrastructure (AWS) in their South Asia region, and the application servers that read them also run there. Files are additionally distributed through a global content delivery network so they load quickly wherever a viewer is. Other providers we rely on operate in their own locations, including the United States and the European Union, so your information may also be stored or processed there. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers who are bound by their own privacy and security obligations. The current list of providers is in section 6.
5. Analytics on Published Pages
We collect anonymous analytics from published experiences: page views, AR activations, device type, session duration, variant selections. We do not collect names, emails or account identifiers from viewers of a published page, and we do not set tracking cookies on their devices.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following providers to run the Platform. Each has its own privacy policy. Always in use: Supabase (database, authentication and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Bunny.net (content delivery for 3D models and images), Modal (GPU processing for file conversion and optimisation), Resend (transactional email), Stripe (payments and billing). Used only if you choose the feature: Google Gemini and fal.ai (AI image and 3D generation — these receive the prompt and any reference image you supply), Immersal (on-site AR positioning), HubSpot (CRM, only if your organisation connects it), Google model-viewer (AR viewing on Android). If you use our mobile apps, Apple and Google also process information as described in section 10.
7. AI Features and Your Content
Placewize does not use your content to train any AI model, and we do not licence it to anyone for that purpose. AI features are opt-in: if you do not use them, nothing you upload is sent to an AI provider. When you do use them, only the prompt and any reference image you supply are sent — your uploaded 3D models are not. Your uploaded content is processed solely to provide the Platform to you.
8. Published Content and File Links
Files you upload (3D models, images, floorplans) are served from a content delivery network over direct links so they load quickly in browsers and AR viewers. Anyone holding such a link can open that file, so treat links to unreleased work as confidential. Projects are not listed publicly and are not indexed by search engines unless you publish them.
9. Feedback, Comments and Voice Notes
Projects can be shared for review. A reviewer may leave comments, markup, approvals or voice notes, and may supply a name and email address so their feedback can be attributed. Voice notes are audio recordings and are stored alongside the project they belong to. This information is visible to the organisation that owns the project, and is retained until that project or the individual item is deleted. If you invite someone to review a project, you are responsible for making them aware of this. If you have left feedback on a project and want it removed, contact the organisation that invited you, or email privacy@placewize.com.
10. Mobile Applications
Our iOS and Android apps use the camera, and motion and position sensors, to place 3D models in your surroundings. Camera frames are processed on your device to do this and are not uploaded to us, except where you deliberately capture and save an image. If you use on-site positioning, location and camera data are shared with Immersal to locate you within a mapped space. The apps are distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play, which collect their own installation and diagnostic information under their respective privacy policies.
11. Data Retention
Account data retained while active. Personal data removed within 30 days of deletion. Anonymous analytics may be retained indefinitely. Backups are retained on a rolling basis and deleted content may persist in them for a short period after deletion.
12. Your Rights
You can access, correct, delete and export your data, and object to processing. To delete your account and the personal information held with it, email privacy@placewize.com and we will action it within 30 days; we are working on making this available directly in the product. If you are in Australia and are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy matter, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). If you are in the EU or UK, you may complain to your local supervisory authority.
13. Cookies
Essential cookies only for authentication. No advertising or tracking cookies. Published pages do not set cookies on viewer devices.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Platform changes. The date below is updated whenever we do. If a change materially affects how we handle your personal information, we will give account holders reasonable notice by email before it takes effect.
